This research report presents the results of an extensive study conducted by CTBUH on the environmental and cost implications of different types of tall building structures in three cities of the Asia-Pacific market: Sydney, Bangkok, and Singapore. Particular attention is paid to life cycle cost assessment (LCCA), through all stages of construction, including end-of-life considerations.
The research presented here has been conducted with two objectives in mind. The first is to relay the results of the simulations conducted, so that ready-to-use data can be used to inform better, more sustainable decision-making by the construction industry. The second is pedagogic: the detailed description of the process that has been adopted by the researchers along its phases, beyond ensuring its replicability, informs professionals in the field on how to conduct an LCCA analysis for their own projects.
Principal Researchers / Authors: Dario Trabucco, Alberto Balzan, Claudia Cabrera, Martina Belmonte,
Lu Lin, Chiara Perlotto, and Giovanni Perrucci
