The World’s 118 Tallest Buildings is a continuation of the highly acclaimed “100 Tallest” series produced by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH). This edition profiles the 118 world’s tallest buildings, in recognition of the completion of the 679-meter Merdeka118 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which is not only the second-tallest structure mankind has ever built, but also the tallest building to be completed in the past dozen or so years, since Burj Khalifa. Since the last issue of the "100 Tallest" series was published in 2015, 57 of the world’s most iconic skyscrapers have been pushed out by this next generation of memorable towers. A staggering 65% of all buildings in this latest edition are thus new—a testament to the rapid growth in tall building development!
